When I think of what motivates me, it's the simple fact that I see patients who are suffering due to obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart failure, kidney disease; including my own family! While I still have control over my life I want to make sure I live it to the fullest. I’ve seen the end results of poor nutrition and lack of inactivity and I wanted to be on the opposite spectrum.
I have always felt the need to be active growing up in a family with so much inactivity. I ran track in high school, cross country in college but I wasn’t always eating right or weight training. Years ago, with social media on the come up at the time, like everyone else I looked at other bodies and wished and wondered if I could get there. I decided that you can wish and wonder all you want but if you don’t dedicate the time to make changes for your own betterment and success, you won’t ever reach your goals. That goes even beyond fitness.
Because of my knowledge and experience as a PA, I have seen both sides of the fence. Those who waited until it was too late and can’t make the necessary changes to their health and those who are still able to. For me, it's not just about booty gains; it's about being heart healthy and becoming the best version of you.
